Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Vilang ("Vilang", "we", "us" or "our") about your use of the Vilang mobile app and this website (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.
2. Who can use Vilang
You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country, and at least the minimum age required to use the Service where you live. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Your account
To use some features you need an account. You agree to give accurate information, to keep your login details safe, and to be responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone has used your account without permission. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.
4. Your licence to use Vilang
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Service for your own learning. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, or try to extract the source code of the Service, except where the law allows it. All rights we do not clearly grant you are reserved.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. This means you will not break the law, infringe anyone's rights, upload harmful code, try to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other accounts, scrape or harvest data at scale, interfere with how the Service works, or use the Service to harass others or share illegal content. We may remove content or limit access to keep the Service safe.
6. Our content and intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos and the Vilang name, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use our brand or content without our written permission, except as allowed by these Terms or by law.
7. Your content
Content you create or save in the Service, such as your saved words and notes, stays yours. You give us the limited permission we need to store, process and show that content back to you so we can provide the Service, including syncing it across your devices and letting you export it. You are responsible for the content you add.
8. Third-party videos and links
Vilang shows videos and other content created by third parties. That content belongs to the people and platforms that made it, not to us, and it may be governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party content, and showing it in Vilang does not mean we endorse it. Links to other websites or services are provided for convenience only.
9. Changes and availability
We are always improving Vilang, so we may add, change or remove features, content or languages at any time. We may also limit or pause the Service for maintenance or other reasons. We will try to keep the Service running smoothly, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent allowed by law. Vilang is a learning tool. We do not guarantee any particular result, level of fluency, or score on any test. Your progress depends on many things, including how you use the Service.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Vilang and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold harmless Vilang and its team from claims, losses and costs that arise from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms, to the extent allowed by law.
13. Ending these terms
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we need to for legal or safety reasons. Some parts of these Terms, such as ownership, disclaimers and limits on liability, continue to apply after your access ends.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make important changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws that apply where Vilang is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless the mandatory law of your country says otherwise. Any disputes will be handled in the courts that have proper jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under local law.
